A Giant Leap for Humanity?

Breitbart.com says Obama represents a giant leap for humanity - as noted by a Haitian born governor of a Canada province. My comments below:

Sadly, Haiti chose poorly in its approach to governance and policy for a century or more. It chose short term solutions to every crisis and now it is the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere - maybe the world. Same island - across the fence is Dominican Republic : better off by 50 times. I don’t think I’d want to compare the “success” of Haiti with the potential for Obama’s “African American” presidency. There must be a better example for comparison. Although - it seems to me - as a rule - Democrats in America often look for the quick solutions that seem to perpetually fail the people - while the Republicans seem to take a longer-term approach for solutions that EVENTually solidify a base for prosperity for most. In that way - maybe D.R. and Haiti can be compared?

New Clock for 2009

My New clock
I noticed an ad on this site for information about the 10 BILLION dollars in government grants every month. I think it would be a good idea for conservative groups to begin teaching how to apply for and receive these grants. It is surely the rule that grants are awarded to largely liberal leaning projects and when they are studies on one social issue or another they are most assuredly biased toward a liberal solution. If more "conservatives" apply for the grants and produce the studies - I am sure a more realistic conclusion will be drawn from the data collected. As long as the money flows to liberal bias - then liberal bias will always provide the "body of evidence" for policy decisions. Not to say liberals are always wrong --- "just sayin' " .

USO at work for troops

Here is a neat little blog that carried a story about our friend Richard Simms who entertains troops about to deploy at the DFW airport. NAVY WIFE RADIO . Both of these links are an inspiration.

Why Chrysler Will Fail

Interesting post. You may recall Bob Nardeli from his golden parachute out of Home Depot taking tens and tens of millions of dollars in severance and bonuses as Home Depot fell into the pits. NOW he is begging for Chrysler's life. ONLY YOU - can help.
