Mayor Report on Municipal Waste

Mayor Speckhart of Sparta talks about the referendum on the Municipal waste plan.

Uncle Vic Snores

But now, after several years of sleep apnea and snoring so bad I had to sleep away from my family - I found something that works.  This is not an advertisement - just a note to snorers who might want to try something else.  I must have used google to search for things - and the device that looked most practical was ordered and tried. It works.  A little uncomfortable but after about two weeks now - I am still NOT SNORING and everybody in the house can sleep soundly.  The cost is about $60 for the device and you have to "form fit" it to your mouth to use it - instuctions included of course. If you have TMJ or seriious teeth problems it is not for you.  The discomfort gets less as time goes on and you get used to it.  www.puresleep.com is the web location. Read up on it and see if it works for you.   I am sorry I did not look harder before my "Sleep Apnea" test with a local physician. Two nights of testing and "Mask" regulating were reqired to reach a solution through a specialist.  The nightly "sleep testing" fees (paid by insurance thankfully) were over $4,000 per night.

Test one concluded I had sleep apnea (plus I snored of course) and Test two allowed a forced air mask to be regulated.  Compare the costs. The $60 device is no more uncomfortable than the mask and it works for me.  Maybe it will work for you.  Uncle Vic.

Engineered Molocules - Berkley Speech

Very good talk (click here) ..about an hour long... A number of topics by Chu. The first part is more on how the ear works - the middle part more on DNA replication and the later 15 minutes a really good synopsis on global warming and the real crisis - the future of fuel or energy to support mankind . All this has to do with engineering molecules to do the work needed in many areas of human concern and endeavors. Yes the talk is long. Yes the concepts may go past you at some points. But the man is quite good at explaining and it is VERY interesting. My take-away on global warming... "Whether or not global warming is exacerbated by CO2 - in 150 years there needs to be a viable massive new energy source besides fossil fuels and possibly beyond nuclear". (thus molecular engineering solutions).

Timely Stock Market Analysis

O.K. sports fans.. here is look at some charts for some well known mutual funds over a period from mid 2002 to now. All these do well. Some are "safer" thus less risk - less gain over time. The higher risk - higher gain ones are "emerging market" funds. The top "dark blue" line is a USAA fund that I have placed "bolinger bands" with 150 day settings. Notice when the blue line goes below the bands the future looks good. Right now the blue ine is WAY below the bands - so if you are an investor and not a speculator - this is a RIPE time to buy that fund. The red line is a similar mutual fund from Vanguard. Any of these funds will show similar buy signals with the bolinger bands. Just plan on several years to HOLD the fund and enjoy a good return. To research further - look up the mutual fund and see what the top five stocks are that are in it. Now - look at each of those stocks and check their charts and bolinger bands. Could be - that some of those individual stocks will be about to make a move too - since they are the what the pros are buying for the mutual fund. Look at this a year from now and see if I was right. This has been your stock market lesson for the day. Yahoo Finance has great tools. Use them.

speed traps

SPEED TRAPS
This is interesting. When you get the web site up, click on the state. Then the next window is a listing of all the cities in that state. Click on your city and there are the speed traps listed. I had no idea this was available to everyone. http://www.speedtrap.org/speedtraps/stetlist.asp

All wheel Drive K car

Primary Politics with Delphine (3)

Dozens of people are now paying attention to what Delphine has to say about the American Political Scene. You too may become a follower.  She may even be drafted for the presidency.  We suspect there is potential here for third party candidacy or maybe a 12th party?  Get more of Delphines thoughts from her prior commentaries and from the feature on Ruthabell's Store.

Primaries with Delphine (Part II)

They hold primaries in Munson whenver Delphine says - right downtown at Ruthabell's store.  If you expect mild opinions - don't listen to Delphine. This is part 2 of her take on the candidates and what she thinks is important in the upcoming elections.  The opinions expressed here are not necessarily those of this station or its advertisers.  By the way - you CAN advertise here for what would be pocket change to somebody like Bill Gates.

entrepreneur or what?

A young boy enters a barber shop and the barber whispers to his
customer, "This is the dumbest kid in the world. Watch while I prove it to
you."
The barber puts a dollar bill in one hand and two quarters in the other,
then calls the boy over and asks, "Which do you want, son?"

The boy takes the quarters and leaves.

"What did ! I tell you?" said the barber. "That kid never learns!"

Later, when the customer leaves, he sees the same young boy coming out of
the ice cream store. "Hey, son! May I ask you a question? Why did you take
the quarters instead of the dollar bill?"

The boy licked his cone and replied,"Because the day I take the dollar, the
game's over."

Muzik Reviews

http://www.muzikreviews.com/erinb1.php
My former student, Erin B. rails against commercials using great music to push consumerism.
After all - she says -- the rockers were rebelling against "the man".
now "the man" is using the former rebellious music to stoke the corporate profits.
My opinion?  Well - it IS about the money ... and it was all along!! duh?

The 60's revisted

This is the best presentation of the 60's that I have ever seen online. It
