Saying "God" in Public - Petition

The "comments" link below provides my take on the current email petition to re-instate "God" In the Public Schools. You will find I am in favor of the desired outcome, but not the method of the petition.

King of Winter - Video Poem

Send this link to your friends. (use the envelope at the bottom right of the post) Give them a taste of winter. This is one of a dozen planned video poems by MJ Trenkler who keeps a blog at Scarlett's Rhymes. This elk was shot in a snowstorm in Beemerville, New Jersey. Space Farms, Zoo and Museum is there. I can hardly wait to show you the bison romping in the snow there. All these scenes are in a "relaxation" video available for nursing homes from Activity Therapy, or from Buzz Creek and other national sources. It is scenes from this "SNOWFALL SERENADE" that are finding new purpose in the "SNOWETRY" videos containing the words and wonder of MJ Trenkler. Look on her blog or search this blog for more "SNOWETRY" titles.

Pastor Phil's NYC Taxi

"Philip Frabosilo is a minister in New York City. His church: a yellow cab, medallion number 3C49. Lovingly adorned with personal photographs, plastic flowers, and whimsical toys, Philip’s partition-less cab is designed for comfort and decorated to encourage conversation."
This is continued at the Brooklyn Museum website. Recently, on Nov 9 he was featured on NPR.
He is a star in the documentary film - Gotham Fish Tales. I have a copy. I recommend it to anyone interested in NYC or in real people or in fishing - fishing wherever. I understand "Rolling For Jesus" is a classic as well. Read more about Phil at Block Magazine and New York City Voices .
Uncle Vic was in NYC in May to work on some video for All Points Tours and this opportunity came up as one of those random events of everyday life. (TRT+10min)

Yankees Meet Katrina

The First Presbyterian Church of Sparta put together a mission help trip to Mississippi recently. Katrina left a big mess. This 14 minute video shows some of the devasatation and some of the volunteer work. Many church groups are involved every week and all over the region. In this case, it is my church from Sparta, NJ. I am a native of the Gulf Coast myself. Every chance I get, I am down home doing repairs for friends and family who still suffer from Ivan and Dennis. Those and Katrina will require YEARS for recovery to take shape. This film was made by Bob Forrester from our church. He is working hard to develop a video ministry there. People in our area interested in a community and/or church video user group should contact Bob - or contact ME.

Cartoons of Death

Well, Christians get upset when cartoons and other art appear irreverent or disrespectful. But usually, they don't begin chanting about killing people because of it. Here is an interesting take from a cartoonist: CHECK THIS LINK FOR FULL READ.
Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Doug Marlette of the Tallahassee Democrat, found himself blasted by a CAIR e-mail Jihad when he drew a cartoon with the caption, "What Would Muhammad Drive?" The drawing showed a man wearing Arab headdress and driving a Ryder truck (a reference to Oklahoma City bomber, Timothy McVeigh). In response to an inquiry from Jyllands Posten, Doug writes, "I was used to negative reactions from religious interest groups, but not the kind of sustained violent intensity of the Islamic threats. The nihilism and culture of death of a religion that sanctions suicide bombers, and issues fatwas on people who draw funny pictures, is certainly of a different order and fanatical magnitude than the protests of our home-grown religious true believers."For More see THIS LINK .
What a mess.

Things to Look out for when Fishing

Fishing can have its problems. I got this video by email from one of my trusty sources who knows good humor when he sees it. Does YOUR outboard motor crank first time - every time? See that PBY Catalina? That is the kind of airplane my Dad crewed in from Iceland during the Battle of The Atlantic in WWII. Most posts in this blog are features from ME3TV or Buzz Creek. Sometimes, I put in variety such as this. Enjoy! Send it to friends with the URL above or by the "letter" icon below.

Why I Like This President

Even President Bush knows he goofs up in speech a lot and he finds it funny himself. He is self depreciating about it. Usually though, his speech is direct and clear ... and there is no mistaking what he means. Even with the speech gaffs - I think he comes across much clearer than many politicians. So, enjoy this collection of super goofs by the Commander in Chief. Laugh out loud! I did!
